Ludus Athletics brought some early Christmas cheer to 75 inner city middle school students at a fun filled fundraiser for the Irie Foundation on December 15th.
While Miami is home to the fourth-largest public school district in the country, thousands of children in the area still aren’t getting the education they need, or the resources to enable them to study and learn. In announcing the fundraiser, Ludus CEO Hamed Wardak said, “We are so proud to support the Irie Foundation. As a former refugee, I value education. DJ Irie has brought to my attention that many promising youth in this city really need better educational opportunities which will help them become more accomplished people.”
Founded by the Miami Heat’s DJ Irie, the Irie Foundation seeks to improve the lives of South Florida youth through educational and extracurricular opportunities that may not otherwise be available to them. With a particular emphasis on the arts, the foundation’s ultimate goal is to improve the graduation rate among the young people it serves. Said DJ Irie, “I’m extremely excited to co-produce this event with Hamed & Ludus. This time of year is all about spreading joy and goodwill and we share the same vision of a better South Florida through education & support of our youth.”
